Chrystal and Mike were married yesterday at Thurman’s Mansion. I was so excited to take some great pictures after shooting their engagement session in Gruene, Texas a few months ago. A funny story is that Chrystal and Mike were referred to me by Kathryn, who’s wedding I shot last week. So the pressure was on to deliver!
For me, the best part of shooting weddings is when the couple gives me the freedom to shoot whatever comes to mind, whether it involves a cool location or some funky lighting tricks. By the time the ceremony starts, I’ve already worked up a few ideas in my head. While we are shooting those, we always come up a couple more. Chrystal and Mike gave me carte blanche to do whatever, and I am so glad they did.
They are also true Aggies, so there were plenty of A&M influences to be seen and heard throughout the event. Whoop!
Lots of pictures in this post, so let’s get started.
This first shot is for Chrystal’s mom, Brenda, who requested a shot of him carrying her.
Chrystal received a card from Mike while she was getting ready.

Chrystal looked stunning, and that was one hot collection of bridesmaids!
This watch came from her grandfather – I love these! This one is set to the time that the ceremony started.

I was happy to capture this sequence of Chrystal and her grandfather!
Since we weren’t able to do a bridal session before the wedding, we took some time to create some portraits for her.
Mike’s theme for his groom’s cake was all about hunting and fishing, and it was complete with lures!
They did a wonderful waltz during their first dance – everyone loved it, and you could tell that they had been working on it for a while.

A little gig ‘em for you Aggie fans.
