If you are in the Austin area this week, I want to pass on two conference-related events that you might be interested in.
For wedding photographers, John Michael Cooper and Dalisa Cooper of AltF will be pulling their VeryAltF tour into Austin for an all-day event on Friday. John pretty much started the whole trash the dress movement, so if you are looking for new ways to approach your work, this event is for you! I’ll be hosting the one-day event at my house, so if you are interested check out their site and sign up!
If children/family photography is your thing, the annual Children and Family Photographer’s of America conference is this weekend! Jennifer Turner has done an excellent job with this conference, and it’s quickly becoming one of the required nationwide events to attend! I’ll be giving a presentation on blogging for photographers at this event on Sunday night! Full conference details can be found here!

I’m coming to the Austin AltF Workshop, but I haven’t seen where we are meeting yet… do I drive I-35 and 183 and hope to see someone flag me down? :)

Eric, when you are DC in September, I think you should attend the DC Short Film Festival Sept 2-12. I know the Director, of the Festival, Jon Gann, a local graphic filmmaker. Take a look at the the “DC short film festival site. and let me know.
