Kathryn's Bridal

by Eric on March 22, 2009

Today was an incredible day in Austin. Everything was winding down from SXSW, and most of the out-of-towners had already left. It was a perfect day to shoot, and so Kathryn (one of my April ’09 brides) met me downtown to take some images.

The cool thing about Kathryn is that she was open to whatever I wanted to do. Obviously we couldn’t do anything that would get the dress dirty, but we did take advantage of the urban settings downtown to create some out-of-the-box bridal images. I absolutely love shooting in these urban settings – take something beautiful and match it up against something that isn’t.

No peeking, Michael.

I love this first shot. The veil flew off 5 seconds after the photograph.

The door was actually sucking the veil towards it!

A big thanks to Kathryn’s mom, Pam. In addition to her ‘keep the dress off the ground’ duties, she also doubled as a human light stand!

Wonderful shots, very creative and fun. The bride and her groom will treasure these for years. Good job!

I love these shots, the very classy and beautiful bride against urban landscape is really cool. Really makes the bride stands out.
