Jack McDonald

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Jack McDonald and his wonderful family. Jack is running for Congress next year, and needed a few family shots for his campaign.

I first heard of Jack through my friend Thom Singer. After reading up a little bit more, I thought it would be great to do a shoot with him (I keep a running list of people that I would love to photograph during my career). Thom made the introductions a few months back, and yesterday was the first shoot. We are planning another shoot soon, which I plan to do more in my style/look.

After the session, Jack and I talked for 20 minutes about our country, our upbringings and experiences. I think we both walked away with at least 20 mosquito bites, but it was worth it! His extensive business and leadership experience is something that I believe is sadly absent in Washington.

Here are a few shots of Jack and his beautiful family.

Rex and Laurel

Last week I did some headshot photography for a company called RBCS. We also shot a cool movie-poster-style image that I’ll have more on soon.

After we knocked those shots out, we did a few family portraits. Check out this great-looking family!

Sally Brown and Marcus Tubbs, University of Texas

I had the great opportunity to shoot at the University of Texas football field recently. The shoot featured Sally Brown (wife of football head coach Mack Brown) and Marcus Tubbs, who played football at U.T. and then went on to play for the Seattle Seahawks before returning to U.T. to work in their Athletic program.

Sally is writing an article for Austin Woman magazine about what she’s learned from the players – Sort of a ‘top 10′ list.

It was a great honor to spend time on the field – the stadium was empty, and the day was beautiful. Even though we were only out there for about 20 minutes, it goes down as one of my favorite shoots ever! In addition to the field shots, we also made it into the Trophy Room and the Player’s Lounge.

Look for the piece in the October issue of Austin Woman magazine!

Headshot Shootout 2 is a wrap!

Saturday was my second Headshot Shootout, and it was a blast. Literally a blast – the wind was absolutely crazy! We started at the same office building we shot at last time, but this time we got kicked out. Apparently, a wedding was about to take place. Who gets married at an office building at 10 in the morning? We never saw a bride, or a groom for that matter. :)

So, we headed up to street level and knocked out some shots, and they came out great! Big props to my assistant Chris, as well as my friend Ben, who came by to just say hello and ended up being put to work.

While we were shooting, a bike race was happening, and I caught this shot of Lance Armstrong riding by.
