Came across this at my friend Jennifer Turner’s FB page. Enjoy!
"Baby and the Tramp" Shooting Info
In addition to the contest I mentioned earlier, “Baby and the Tramp” is getting some love over at Crash Taylor’s The Still Image blog. There, I talk about the approach, how I lit it and shot it. Head over there and take a look, and be sure to go through all of the excellent images posted there. Lots of good stuff!
Headed to WPPI on Saturday – if you want to meet up, catch me via Twitter or send me an email at eric //a t//doggettstudios.com.
Announcing KillTheAmbient. Because the sun is evil.
I am excited to announce the launch of a new blog, KillTheAmbient.com.
KTA was designed to offer my thoughts on lighting, business, marketing, and any other aspect of photography that sounds interesting. While I hope the info I post there will be valuable, it will definitely also have a little bit of humor thrown in for good measure. For example, where else can you read that you should get pregnant to guarantee new camera gear, or pack heat when traveling?
Down the road, I might offer some training programs at the site if there’s enough interest. But for now, visit the site, sign up for updates, and enjoy the curiously fun photo tips and comedic stylings of yours truly.
DadLabs Live Show
Just a note that I will be with the guys from DadLabs.com for their live internet show this Thursday, January 14th, starting at 1:00 PM CST. To catch the show, head on over to DadLabs.com at that time. I’ll be talking about photo tips you must avoid like the plague when shooting your family!
Afterwards, we are headed right into a hilarious conceptual shoot with them that has been in the planning stages for a few months. We’ll also be rolling some video for a behind-the-scenes feature.
Portrait Photography Video Intro
I recently launched an updated version of the portfolio site. Along with the larger images and easier navigation, we shot 3 intro videos for the various site sections (weddings, portraits, and seniors). Below is the portrait intro video, which gives you a glimpse into how we do location portraiture work. There are also several behind-the-scenes clips included from some of my favorite shoots!
New Website!!! New Videos!!!
After several weeks of tweaking, I am pleased to announce that a new version of the website is online! Here are some of the cool new features:
Larger Images – hundreds of tasty new pixels are now included with every image.

Patented ‘Show Me’ Navigation - Now you can navigate easily between portraits, weddings, and senior work using the innovative Show Me button. Are you following me, camera guy?

New Videos - Each section (portraits, weddings, and seniors) has its own intro video detailing my approach to shooting those subjects.

Consolidated Videos - All the videos are listed on one easy page, no matter what section of the site you are in.

What do you think? Do you have any suggestions to make it even better?
