Here’s another shot from Alex’s session that I just finished. Usually when I blog about a shoot I’ve completed my editing and have picked my favorites. But this one caught my eye after-the-fact, and so I decided to spend some time on it.

Here’s another shot from Alex’s session that I just finished. Usually when I blog about a shoot I’ve completed my editing and have picked my favorites. But this one caught my eye after-the-fact, and so I decided to spend some time on it.
Alex is a fun guy from a great family. I photographed his sister years ago, and his mother was the first person to sign up for the upcoming Headshot Shootout. When I told her about some of the new directions I was going with for seniors, we set a date to shoot Alex.
Alex is into his PS3. Now, I’m an X-Box person myself, so I tried not to hold that against him too much. His career interests, however, are quite cool – he wants to do creative voice work for shows, games, and more!
As with all of my seniors, we talked about ideas to show these varied interests, and so we ended up downtown with a chair, a PS3, and a microphone.
I love it when I get to explore the personalities and interests of my clients. Meet Hayli. She’s a student who loves to shop. Ok, that much we expect. But how many shoppers do you know that also love to shoot? We’re talking rifles. Shotguns. Anything.
During our planning for this shoot, we discussed several ideas and locations. I was specifically looking for ways to bridge the gap between her two interests, and I think we succeeded below. A big special thanks to Dave McLaughlin for assisting, Maris for doing an incredible job with the makeup, and Nimai for watching over us to make sure we didn’t break anything (we almost passed that last point). Also, many thanks to Fab’rik and the property management people at the Hill Country Galleria for helping us create some memorable images for Hayli.
Fresh off the heels of Sam’s senior photo session we did a few weeks ago, here’s a short video where you can see more photos and learn a little bit about Sam. You’ll also see some new branding that we’ll be rolling out in the not-to-distant future.
Thanks for stopping by the DogBlog! If you have any comments or thoughts about the work, I'd love to hear them. [Read More …]
