Sunday night ride to pick up some steaks to grill! We will probably grill them on the sidewalk.

Here’s a view from inside a cave at the famous black sand beach near Hana. Those waves were rough!
Yesterday we did the road to Hana in Maui. It’s basically an all-day driving tour, with stops along the way for waterfalls, lookouts, etc. We started at 7am, and based on some recommendations we went past Hana, and we are so glad we did! At one point, the road winds around the huge Haleakalā gulch! This was formed by lava a long time ago, and it was so amazing! This photo just doesn’t do it justice! Shot this on a Fuji gfx50s. This might be another wall print.
Here’s a BTS shot on that Jack Skellington image I posted. Such a small image to photograph, isn’t it? I love this new technique. What should I create next?
Only about 12 weeks until Halloween! Who’s ready? ⠀ There are so many memories for me that go along with this fun event. Running furiously from house to house, filling my bag with candy, completely disregarding traffic. Seeing my kids get just as excited, and watching their sugar crash be just as hard. And then taking them to Disney’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! ⠀ If you haven’t been to that celebration, you really should consider it. It’s a special ticketed event, and everyone who isn’t there for the party has to leave. Eventually the wait times for rides are so short that once again, I find myself running furiously. But this time from ride to ride, filling my heart with laughs and good memories. ⠀ In honor of the upcoming holiday, I created Jack here in the studio. I loved mixing different colors of light together to see what would happen. ⠀ What are some of your favorite Halloween memories? Are you old enough to remember getting your candy x-rayed? 😀
Hanging out today at @cowboyhdaustin getting some work done on my two-wheeled beauty. I need to work on a BTS video of a recent fine art shoot I did, so the schedule is kinda going like this: ⠀ - Work on BTS video- Look at parts catalog- Work on BTS video- Look at parts catalog- Work on BTS video- Look at parts catalog ⠀ Plus a little bit of “how I would have shot that image in the parts catalog” thrown in.
Time for a quick Photoshop tip.📸💥 ⠀ This is another image from my series for @abideisprayer. The reason I wanted to post this one is that I consider it one of those happy accidents that happen when you are just playing around. ⠀ This image started as the image I just posted here yesterday. When I was playing around in Photoshop, I decided to invert it just to see what would happen. You can invert an image by hitting Cmd-I (Mac) or Ctrl-I (Win). Usually, you get something very similar to film negatives (and I'm guessing that's why the function is there in the first place - to invert a negative scan to see the actual image). ⠀ When I did it, I loved the off-white color with the blue center. The logo didn't work, though, so I masked off the effect so that only the area around the logo was inverted. ⠀ I feel like it's a cool look, and I'll be testing it out on upcoming images to see what happens. You should too! Don't expect great results if there are people in the image, but if you are doing something abstract, give it a try and see if you are happy with the results!
I sent a canvas print of the last image I posted to the team at @abideisprayer , and they took the time to take this great photo! It looks like the canvas came out great, and I’m looking forward to creating something like this for other companies, or perhaps favorite quote. ⠀ Do you know a company that might like something like this? Or do you have a favorite quote/Bible verse that provides some inspiration for you? Let me know in the comments below and I'll see what I can do! :)

Today's Christmas card was created for my longest-running family, Amanda and Joel. They're son Grant has been a great model over the last few years and this year he pulled off a perfect Grinch. Or Grantch :)
